Cracker Jack doubles down on Cracker Jill packaging, purpose-driven campaign
Cracker Jack is continuing to invest in its Cracker Jill platform as part of its efforts to spotlight female athletes and support the Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF), to which the Frito-Lay brand has given $400,000 to date to expand access and opportunities for girls and women in sport.
The I Am Cracker Jill Award contest was announced in March 2023 and nine winners — among them women who specialize in football, golf, surfing, weightlifting, martial arts and more — will each receive $5,000. The brand is spotlighting grand prize winner Lindsey Zurbrugg, a current member of the USA Women’s Wheelchair Basketball National Team, on special packaging designed by artist Monica Ahanonu. Zurbrugg joins a roster of Cracker Jill characters that Ahanonu designed in 2022.

After a rough few years, out-of-home advertising is back
As summer roadtrippers likely know, out-of-home advertising is alive and well—or at least alive. The “well” part is up for debate.
Though OOH advertising is one of the oldest forms of marketing, it’s kept up with the times and has recovered from the massive downturn it experienced at the onset of Covid. Market research firm Magna called OOH “the success story of 2021 and 2022,” noting that in some countries—including the US—the sector reached pre-pandemic levels by the end of last year, and is on track to “complete a full global recovery” this year.

The Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP), the marketing firm for the dairy industry administered by the United States Department of Agriculture, has spent the past couple of years making a concerted push to win over younger generations that have abandoned the drink in favor of its soy, oat, and nut alternatives. In fact, according to Circana, a consumer market research company that spoke to The New York Times, consumers aged 26 and under bought 20% less milk than the national average in 2022. Because of this, MilkPEP has been making key investments in celebrity endorsements, viral TikTok videos, and satirical social media campaigns, all in an attempt to woo back this rapidly diminishing consumer base.

Cloudflare Radar just released Trending Domains, a new feature that shows you which domains are trending online at any given day or week.
Not-so-minor details: As you probably know, a surge in popularity is not the same as a steady increase.
But Cloudflare Radar offers two tracking options:
Trending today shows domain popularity spikes from one day to the next.
Trending this week shows the growth in popularity over time.
The Radar can also exclude massive domains like Google or Facebook and look at smaller domains whose popularity recently surged.
… And you can check trending domains for any country, which can keep you informed about what’s cooking on the internet—whether worldwide or in a particular market.
Shiny shiny: Cloudflare’s new feature could help you gain a more holistic view of popular domains and maybe act on interesting websites or trends before competitors do.
